Google Voice Search comes to BlackBerry and Android

Many of you already know that few months back google has released their new service for mobile that can trace your information by just a voice, much like it did for the iPhone and Android-based T-Mobile G1.
The Google Mobile App is available now as a free download and allows you to conduct searches with the sound of your voice. To do so, you simply hold down the Talk button on your BlackBerry and then speak your search term into the phone. Brits, you'll also be happy to hear that the app now supports British English accents.

Perhaps even more powerful, the app also includes support for Google's My Locations feature, which brings up search results based on your location as determined by your BlackBerry's GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular triangulation.

Other enhancements include shortcuts to several Google services, such as Gmail, Maps, News, and Reader. To get Google Mobile App on your BlackBerry, you can point your phone's browser to http://m.google.com or enter your mobile number here. Be aware that the app requires you have to have BlackBerry OS 4.1 or higher and BlackBerry OS 4.2 or higher for Voice Search.

Indian way of doing Business

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House in
D.C. One from Bangladesh, another from India and the third, from China.
They go with a White House office to examine the fence.

The Bangladesh contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring,
then works some figures with a pencil. "Well", he says, "I figure the job will run about $900. ($400 for materials, $400 for my team and $100 profit for me)".

The Chinese contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700. ($300 for materials, $300 for my team and $100 profit for me)".

The Indian contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, "$2,700."

The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?"


The Indian contractor whispers back, "$1000 for me, $1000 for you, and we
hire the guy from China to fix the fence."

He can't build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the worst here. Not to mention, he cheated on his wife and with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him".

The defence attorney almost died.

Access your Windows files and folders via a Firefox tab

1. First, make sure to install the IE Tab Firefox add-on (Windows only). As with most Firefox add-ons, you’ll need to restart Firefox for it to start working.
2. Once Firefox restarts, open a new tab and enter the address:
   

   file:///c:/

   (note there’s no http in there at all)

   

3. You should be presented with a list of the contents of your C: drive. Right-click in a blank part of that window and select View Page in IE Tab from the context menu.

   
   

4. The tab will turn into a “Windows Explorer” view of your PC. From here you can open, move, copy, rename (pretty much anything you can think of) all of your files and folders. Navigate to a folder you frequently open (in this example I’ll use the My Documents folder).




5. Drag the icon in your current “Explorer” tab to your Bookmarks Toolbar




6. And now you can use that bookmark to quickly access the My Documents folder (or whatever folder you used).




7. If you use the ‘normal’ method to add a bookmark this way (by selecting Bookmarks and then Bookmark This Page…) you won’t get the desired effect (the ‘bookmark’ won’t act as a link to Windows Explorer, it will just list the files and folders). If you right-click the shortcut in your Bookmarks Toolbar and select PropertiesLocation: includes ietab, which is how the bookmark knows to load that “page” using your IE Tab add-on. you’ll notice that the

Sectarianism, bigotry, and its horrible descendant, fanaticism, have long possessed this beautiful earth. They have filled the earth with violence, drenched it often and often with human blood, destroyed civilization and sent whole nations to despair. Had it not been for these horrible demons, human society would be far more advanced than it is now. But their time is come; and I fervently hope that the bell that tolled this morning in honor of this convention may be the death-knell of all fanaticism, of all persecutions with the sword or with the pen, and of all uncharitable feelings between persons wending their way to the same goal.

Run Linux Applications in Windows

Linux fans who feel the need to run a Windows app or two can take advantage of WINE, which enables most programs written for Windows to run on the Linux desktop. But what about those seeking the opposite -- Windows fans that need to run Linux apps?

If you're lucky, someone has already ported your favorite Linux app over to Windows. If not, here are some options for getting Linux apps on your Vista or XP desktop. It sounds daunting, but don't be scared -- all of these methods utilize the incredibly popular and easy to grasp Ubuntu Linux distribution.

What's the need for Linux apps on Windows?

As for why you'd want to do this, there are several Linux apps that are much better -- and with more advanced features -- than their Windows counterparts.

For example, Amarok is a superior alternative to Windows Media Player or iTunes, especially if you ever need to take music off your iPod. Amarok lets you move files in both directions -- onto the iPod and from the iPod onto your desktop, a function that iTunes by itself does not provide. Amarok also has better options for tagging your music than iTunes, and it features integration with Wikipedia and the Last.fm social network.

Web developers and designers could test their pages against Linux browsers like Konqueror or Epiphany. Also, those working in scientific fields probably use a number of Linux-based apps that haven't yet been ported to Windows (and may never be).

Running apps in a faux-native environment will always be easier than dual-booting into a second OS. And aside from the practical concerns, it's just plain cool. Or creepy, depeding on your bias.

andLinux

Check out andLinux, a complete Ubuntu Linux distribution built to run on all modern, 32-bit Windows operating systems like XP and Vista.

AndLinux isn't quite the same thing as WINE, since andLinux actually loads the full Linux kernel, but andLinux does make Linux apps look like they're running natively on Windows. In other words, they behave somewhat like Windows apps running in the "Coherence Mode" of Parallels or "Unity mode" of VMWare on the Mac.

Under the hood, andLinux uses CoLinux as its core. CoLinux is an unholy merger of Windows and the Linux kernel, and is not an emulated PC. As with WINE, the fact that it's not emulated means you get a significant performance boost.

Keep in mind that andLinux is a beta and may have some rough edges, but if you're dying to get Linux and Windows playing nice, it should do the job.

Installation

There are some basic install instructions at the andLinux website. However, Adam Pash over at Lifehacker has put together a much better tutorial showing you how to install KDE Ubuntu with andLinux.

Tip: andLinux lets you choose how much system memory you want to dedicate to Linux. The installer recommends 192MB, but give it 512MB more if you have the memory to spare.

Tip: Ubuntu will install with several key apps (browser, media player, e-mail client) but if you want more, use the Synaptic installer to browse downloadable programs. Synaptic is accessible through the KDE start menu which now shows up in Windows' system tray (in the lower-right, next to the clock).

Wubi

Another option is to use Wubi, which installs the latest stable release of Ubuntu on your Windows machine. The installer was originally intended to draw in the curious by letting you run Ubuntu Linux on a Windows machine without actually having to install a second operating system. But it has the side-effect of allowing you to run Linux apps within a Windows environment.

Cygwin

Cygwin is another possibility. It provides a good deal of Linux functionality and APIs via a DLL. It allows you to compile Linux applications that don't have a Windows version.

A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy was the apple of their eyes. When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open. He was late for work so he asked the wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard. The mother, preoccupied in the kitchen, totally forgot the matter.
The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the bottle and, fascinated with its color, drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the child collapsed, the mother hurried him to the hospital, where he died. The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband.
When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just four words.

The husband's totally unexpected reaction is proactive behavior. The child is dead. He can never be brought back to life. There is no point in finding fault with the mother. Besides, if only he have taken time to keep the bottle away, this will not have happened. Nopoint in attaching blame. She had also lost her only child. What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her.
Sometimes we spend time asking who is responsible or who to blame, whether in a relationship, in a job or with the people we know. We miss out some warmth in human relationship in giving each other support. After all, shouldn't forgiving someone we love be the easiest thing in the world to do? Treasure what you have. Don't multiply pain, anguish and suffering by holding on to forgiveness.
If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the world.
Take off all your envies, jealousies, unwillingness to forgive, selfishness, and fears and you will find things are actually not as difficult as you think.

How to hide .rar files within picture files

This tutorial will show you how to hide .rar files within .jpg files - so that anyone who opens the picture would never know there was another file hidden within it.

1. Select the RAR file that you want to hide. For this example the file I want to hide is called files.rar and the picture I’m going to hide it in is called warren.jpg. Copy both the files into the same folder.



2. Then open the command prompt by selecting Start -> Run -> in the space provided enter cmd and click OK.
3. Navigate to the the folder that you stored the files in. I kept them in the Downloads folder found within my My Documents folder, so I issued the commands cd “My Documents” and then cd Downloads. Now type the following command: copy /b warren.jpg + files.rar warren2.jpg Remember - replace warren.jpg, files.rar and warren2.jpg with the names of your files.





4. This will embed the archive thus hiding it. You can open warren2.jpg with a picture viewer and there will be no indication that there’s a .rar file hidden within it.
5. To open the hidden archive (.rar file), simply open warren2.jpg (your picture) with WinRAR, or the RAR decompression utility of your choice.



6. NOTE: you may need to select All Files when opening your picture file with WinRAR, otherwise it won’t be listed in the directory view.



7. Now you can extract the “hidden” files from your “hidden” RAR file.
