Care for your Eyes: Your most precious assets

A glance of the eye is described as one of the most wonderful things in nature. Eye is an integral part of one's beauty but we, at times, completely ignore taking care of it. Eye care is equally important and serious as other ailments because the damage it can cause is intense and immeasurable. Hence, consulting an ophthalmologist becomes important for avoiding any loss relating to your eyes.

The number of people with visual problems is truly deplorable. In a developing country like India, it is estimated that India is home to 23.5% of the world's blind population. To curb this huge crisis, India, in 1976, became the first country in the world to start a national program for controlling blindness. Surveys show cataract to be the most common cause of blindness. Hence, recent focus has been on high-quality surgery and up-gradation of skills among the ophthalmologists. Other vital reasons of blindness are glaucoma, refractive errors, corneal blindness and childhood blindness.
Medical Tourism in India
India, besides being an IT hub, is becoming popular for medical tourism, with increasing number of international patients heading towards India for medical treatments. The prime reason being the highly cost effective treatment facilities, which is followed by world class techniques and tools. Listed below are the common eye care treatments available in India:

Know the common symptoms of eye diseases
A few common symptoms of eye diseases are:

* Pain within the eyes or headache
* Diminishing vision which may be sudden or gradual
* Watering of or discharge from the eyes

Common solvable Refractive Problems
The common vision defects which can be rectified by using glasses are:

2. Hypermetropia – Also called long-sightedness, it is caused by an eyeball that is too short or a cornea that has too little curvature. This is rectified by using converging lenses.
3. Presbyopia – With the reaching of forty years of age, most people's vision suffer Presbyopia. This is caused by the crystalline lens' disability to focus on close objects or small prints with increasing age. Presbyopia patients are prescribed to use progressive lenses.

The eternal beauty of eye is deteriorated by the unhygienic environment around us, along with the inevitable aging. Unless we make a conscious effort to take care of it, eye diseases will never cease. Hence, it is important for each person to know the basic healthy tips of eye care, which will help making your eyes an asset to you throughout your life.

How to have good Eyesight?
Most eye problems are attributed to stress, tension and laziness which lead to gradual failing of eyesight. Many people habitually strain their eyes by keeping them in a fixed position, staring at a whole scene rather than allowing steady movement. It is essential for the eye muscles to move freely in order to make the tiny adaptations necessary to centre on the object of your vision.
Exercises for improving Eyesight

There are some particular exercises which can help relax the eye muscles and optic nerve and use memory and imagination to improve coordination between the brain and eyes.

* Palming – It is a simple technique which can refresh your eyes. You just close your eyes and cover them with your palms by resting them on your cheek bones. Make sure not to put pressure on your eyeballs. Breathe slowly and evenly, relaxing and imagining deep blackness. Begin by doing this exercise for ten minutes, two or three times a day.
* Swinging – Keep the eyes mobile and stay relaxed. Then stand up and focus on a distant point, swaying gently from one side to another. Repeat as many times as you can, preferably hundred times daily, blinking as you sway. Blinking lubricates and cleans the eyes, which is extremely important if you spend several hours in front of the computer.
* Sunning – Try to do this exercise once a day. It requires a sunny day or a desk lamp with a luminescent bulb. Close your eyes and try to look directly at the sun through your closed eyes. When facing the sun, rotate your head slowly from side to side as far as possible. This exercise helps to get sunlight on the peripheral vision and enables more blood circulation to your neck. Do this for three to five minutes every day.
* Colour day – Choose any colour and look out for it throughout the day. When you see the particular colour, be aware of the colour rather than the form. For example, if it's a blue car, experience the shade of blue, not the car.

Common tips when doing eye exercises
You should follow some of the common tips when performing your eye exercises:

* Take off your glasses or contact lenses
* Concentrate intensely on your eyes and feel them working
* Do the exercises regularly for better results

Your eyes are the most important assets which should always be taken good care of. Vision is our primary means of relationship to the beautiful world around us. Hence, proper and regular care of the eyes is extremely essential for every individual.

When I looked into ur eyes,
I felt my lonely spirit rise.
When I heard ur voice.
I had no longer felt alone.

A new beginning,
but this time no end

u are my friend!!!

How to watch high quality Youtube videos

Login to your Youtube account
Next to the word account there is a small drop down arrow
Press on this for a menu to appear
From this menu choose more..
Then scroll down the page and under the heading account, choose video playback quality
Put a check next to I have a fast internet connection. Always play higher quality video when it is available..
Save settings. That's it.

Now when you are logged into your account and you want to watch a Youtube video it will show you the highest quality resolution for that video. If nothings happens and it is still the low quality FLV version then that just means that Youtube video is not available in a higher quality yet.

There is also another little trick you can do to see if a Youtube video has a higher quality video available. You simply add &fmt=6 to the end of the url in the address bar in your internet browser.

For example a url of one my video's is http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=30qfCgwxzEPw and to see it in higher quality you would change it to http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=30qfCgwzEPw&fmt=6

This only works if there is a higher resolution video available.

Notes:
When there is not a higher quality when you add &fmt=6 then you can also try adding &fmt=18 to the URL to get MP4 instead FLV

Cracked Pot

Here’s some good old Chinese wisdom!
An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole, which she carried across her neck.
One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.
But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.
After 2 years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.
“I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.”
The old woman smiled, “Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot’s side?
That’s because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.”
“For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.”
Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.”Each of us has our own unique flaw…
But it’s the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.
You’ve just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

I'm still growing!!

Sir Edmund Hillary was the first man to climb Mount Everest.
On May 29, 1953 he scaled the highest mountain then known

to man-29,000 feet straight up. He was knighted for his efforts.

He even made American Express card commercials because of it!

However, until we read his book, High Adventure,

we don't understand that Hillary had to grow into this success.

You see, in 1952 he attempted to climb Mount Everest , but failed. A
few weeks later a group in England asked him to address its members.
Hillary walked on stage to a thunderous applause. The audience was
recognizing an attempt at greatness, but Edmund Hillary saw himself as
a failure. He moved away from the microphone and walked to the edge of
the platform. He made a fist and pointed at a picture of the mountain.
He said in a loud voice, " Mount Everest , you beat me the first time,
but I'll beat you the next time because you've grown all you are going
to grow... but I'm still growing!"

This is the attitude that has made most of the world renowned achievers to reach their goal in life!
The attitude of “ learning & growing” every moment in life!

Confide In A Friend

When you're tired and worn at the close of day
And things just don't seem to be going your way,
When even your patience has come to an end,
Try taking time out and confide in a friend.

Perhaps he, too, may have walked the same road
With a much troubled heart and burdensome load,
To find peace and comfort somewhere near the end,
When he stopped long enough to confide in a friend.

For then are most welcome a few words of cheer,
For someone who willingly lends you an ear,
No troubles exist that God cannot mend,
But to get quick relief, just confide in a friend.

You're the one I couldn't forget..

You're the one I couldn't forget
Even at the last breath I take
You're the one my heart longs for
Because I found real joy in you

You're the one I'll love so true
For you gave me same love too
You're the one I needed most
For I am so in love with you

You light my life and turn it right
And put a music in my heart
How can I thank you for all the things
And for the love you've given me?

I can never ask for more because
My life has been complete since
I FOUND YOU!

Splashes In Life

"My grandfather took me to the fish pond on the farm when I was about seven, and he told me to throw a stone into the water. He told me to watch the circles created by the stone. Then he asked me to think of myself as that stone person.

"You may create lots of splashes in your life but the waves that come from those splashes will disturb the peace of all your fellow creatures," he said.
"Remember that you are responsible for what you put in your circle and that circle will also touch many other circles. You will need to live in a way that allows the good that comes from your circle to send the peace of that goodness to others. The splash that comes from anger or jealousy will send those feelings to other circles. You are responsible for both."

That was the first time I realized each person creates the inner peace or discord that flows out into the world. We cannot create world peace if we are riddled with inner conflict, hatred, doubt, or anger. We radiate the feelings and thoughts that we hold inside, whether we speak them or not. Whatever is splashing around inside of us is spilling out into the world, creating beauty or discord with all other circles of life.

A Beautiful Moment

When one beautiful moment ends, another begins.
Do not hold so tightly that you miss the beauty altogether.

With a thankful heart, enjoy the goodness that comes your
way in things great and small.
The way to make sure you

never lose it is to simply let it be.

In good time the joys of life come, one after another. Be

open and accepting of what is now here,
and you'll connect with the abundance that is all around you.

Each moment is a blessing.
Treasure its unique gifts and do
not rush to the next one, or worry that the last one was
insufficient.

Relish the beauty that is now, and know that there will be
more. Fully live and appreciate what you have right here and
now.

In this beautiful moment is great and profound treasure. Let
it be, and it is always yours.

Britain To Put CCTV Cameras Inside Private Homes

As an ex-Brit, I’m well aware of the authorities’ love of
surveillance and snoopi ng, but even I, a pessimistic cynic, am amazed
by the governments latest plan: to install Orwell’s telescreens in
20,000 homes.

£400 million ($668 million) will be spend on installing and
monitoring CCTV cameras in the homes of private citizens. Why? To make
sure the kids are doing their homework, going to bed early and eating
their vegetables. The scheme has, astonishingly, already been running
in 2,000 family homes. The government’s “children’s secretary” Ed Balls
is behind the plan, which is aimed at problem, antisocial families. The
idea is that, if a child has a more stable home life, he or she will be
less likely to stray into crime and drugs.

It gets worse. The government is also maintaining a private army, incredibly not
called “Thought Police”, which will “be sent round to carry out home
checks,” according to the Sunday Express. And in a scheme which firmly
cements the nation’s reputation as a “nanny state”, the kids and their
families will be forced to sign “behavior contracts” which will “set
out parents’ duties to ensure children behave and do their homework.”

And remember, this is the left-wing government. The Shadow Home
Secretary Chris Grayling, batting for the conservatives, thinks these
plans are “too little, and too late,” implying that even more obtrusive
work needs to be done. Rumors that a new detention center, named Room
101, is being constructed inside the Ministry of Love are unconfirmed.
